Phillip R. Varvel 65 of Clearwater. Phillip, the youngest of seven, was born in Troy, OH. He sadly passed away suddenly at home on Dec. 7th. He was a graduate of Northmont H.S. in Clayton, OH. and an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a dutiful supporter of his family and recently retired as local delivery truck driver for GA Foods. Spending much of his life in the bay area, he enjoyed fishing, taking his family to theme parks, carnivals, fairs, local car races, and an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Since his retirement he spent most of his time at home with family. Phillip’s passing was preceded by his parents Irwin and Evelyn, and eldest brother Paul. Those that he left behind are sisters Nancy and Eva of Brookville, OH. and Pamela of Phillipsburg, OH., brothers Denny and Mickey of Venice FL., cousin Joanne Hohman and family of Dayton, OH., devoted wife Donna, children David, Christopher, Kimberly, Thomas, and 14 grandchildren. All of whom wish Phillip a peaceful rest. The family would like to thank all friends, neighbors and co-workers for your well wishes, emotional support and understanding during this very trying time.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday, December 15, 2017 at David C. Gross Funeral Home in Clearwater, where friends will be received from noon thru service time.
