Karen Smith, Ramsey, Hutto 76, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 25th, 2018.
Karen is survived by her husband David Hutto of 28 years and her children; Alice (Wade) Strothman, Penny (Brent) Schmitt, Peggy (Tim) Yea, and Brian Ramsey, along with her bonus children Sherilan (Rick) Lane, and Steven Hutto. She has 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Karen grew up in Beloit Wisconsin with her parents Robert and Myrtle Smith and her siblings; Don, Elwin, Nona, and Dorthy Alice. She moved to Florida in 1989 where she met her husband David. Her and her husband enjoyed sailing, country line dancing, traveling to see family, and of course the Greenbay Packers! Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was the family advocate/ protector (sometimes when not asked) and would go to bat until resolution occurred- this is where nicknames/saying like "the Lawyer" or "don't make me go Granno on you" came from. "Grandma", "Gramma Toe" and "Granno" made an impact on all of her grandchildren and will ever be in their hearts and memories.
Her family will spread her ashes at her favorite sailing spot followed by a celebration of life party on Wednesday November 21st.- please notify the family for details.
Heaven gained a special angel and although her family is very sad, they are also happy for her peace..
David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.
