Scott Peter Gray, age 52, died suddenly at 9:12 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 while vacationing with his wife’s family in northern Wisconsin.
Scott was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 10, 1965 and was a 19-year resident of St. Petersburg, Florida by way of California and Texas. Scott had a zest for life and loved to travel. He explored places throughout the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and other foreign lands. He was loved everywhere he traveled because of his charismatic, curious and adventurous nature. Scott was a cheerful, genuine, kind, humorous and caring spirit who was always willing to help and mentor others on a moment’s notice. His ingenuity and intellectual ability in so many facets of life made him a true jack of all trades – Scott was a superhero. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
Scott is survived by his wife and soul mate, Tani Gray, step-children, Beanie, Jeffrey and Angie, grandson, Landon, father, John Peter Gray (Beverly Burke-Gray), mother, Mary Susan Roskopp, favorite mother-in-law, Vera Homeskye, brother Mark Gray, sisters, Karen Funk, Jackie Kreuter, Mindy Maguregui and Katie Gray, step-sisters, Jennifer Vogt and Julie Lopata, multiple loving nieces and nephews, and beloved canine companion, Bella.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Herbert and Martha (Greilsamer) Gray, Eugene and Jean Ritter, sister, Tracy Reynolds, and step-father Robert Roskopp.
A visitation will be held from 3-4 pm on Saturday, August 4 at the David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, where funeral services will begin at 4 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 12 noon at the Gulfport Casino located at 5500 Shore Boulevard South, Gulfport, FL 33707.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Scott may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc. or Somebody, Inc. (The Foundation for Downtown Doggie Center).
