William H. Askwyth 88 of South Pasadena passed away September 8, 2018.
Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 14, 1930. He married Phyllis Dunn on October 20, 1957 in Hartford, CT. Bill graduated from New York University, Columbia University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with degrees in Engineering and Business. He worked at Pratt & Whitney as an engineer for 30 years. He is a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954. Bill was active in Temple Beth Tefilah in East Hartford for many years. He was highly knowledgeable in finance and investments and loved to travel. He was a fun and loving family man. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Hannah and Louis Askwyth and sister, Florence Eschen. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Askwyth and three children and their spouses, Shelly and Richard Jewell of Bolton, CT, David and Maryanne Askwyth of Hamilton, MA and Karen and Jay Fienman of South Windsor, CT, five grandchildren, Jamie Missios, Allison Hartnett, Joshua Fienman and JD and Emily Askwyth, and. two great grandchildren, Callen and Hadley Missios. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of choice in his name.
Funeral services and burial will be in Hartford, CT.
