Dr. William C. Setzer passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the age of 81 years in Dunedin, FL.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Edwina (Miller), children Craig, Julie (John) Shine and Tom (Debbie), 5 wonderful grandchildren: Jack, Sydney, Tyler, Ryan and Connor; and his brother Wendell. Bill was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Sparks.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Lexington, KY, Bill attended the University of Kentucky for his Bachelor’s Degree and his PhD. Bill’s career in Metallurgical Engineering took him to many companies and locations, including New Haven, St. Louis, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Evansville. He and Edwina retired to her hometown of Covington, where they still have friends and family. Bill’s scientific and inquisitive mind was always “on.” He loved fishing, gardening, poker, bridge and playing chess with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for both his intelligence and kindness.
Funeral services will be held in Northern Kentucky at a later date.
